Notice Period: At least 30 days before the end of the monthly period for month-to-month tenancies, or at least 60 days before the end of any annual period for year-to-year tenancies (§ 83.57(1)-(3)). Prohibited Acts: Landlords cannot increase rent as retaliation against tenants for reporting housing violations, joining a tenants’ organization, or exercising statutory rights (§ 83.64), for discriminatory reasons under fair housing laws (§ 760.23), or through unconscionable price gouging during a declared state of emergency (§ 501.160).
